IIP-UFRN announces International Seminar on Superconductivity and Superfluidity
In October, the International Institute of Physics (IIP) will once again join forces with the German foundation Wilhelm and Else Heraeus for a second collaboration, this time in organizing the Binational Seminar on Superconductivity and Superfluidity. The meeting will bring together scientists from Germany, Brazil, and other nations, providing a forum for discussing cutting-edge research in superconductivity and superfluidity in condensed matter and ultra-cold quantum gases.
Between October 14th and 18th, the event will offer not only seminars but also opportunities for young researchers to give talks and share their investigations through poster sessions.
This year, the binational seminar will be held outside of Europe for the first time. The program represents an excellent platform for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and the emergence of new perspectives among researchers. Participants will have the chance to address general issues, focusing on specific points crucial for advancement in this field.
Among the highlighted topics is the emerging phenomenon of the relationship between Bose-Einstein condensation and the BCS theory of superconductivity, as well as the emergence of materials with unconventional superconducting phases, especially in two-dimensional systems, and other related topics.
"It will be a great opportunity for students, especially those entering the field of condensed matter physics. They will have the privilege of meeting and interacting with renowned experts whose work has impacted the scientific community through articles and research. Additionally, the seminar offers the promising possibility of establishing new collaborations," says Prof. Dr. Rodrigo Pereira, leader of the research group at IIP and one of the organizers.
Registrations to participate in the seminar are already open and will close on July 1st. To ensure your participation, access the registration form available at:https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeVD6V5O8mMGWwPNtlpRVvOEk34Anpkqnf1q_QlnWE7LfDVDg/viewform.
