OVERVIEW
What is there in common between fractioned quantum Hall effect and quantum gravity? How do Graphene, High Temperature Superconductors and Quantum Information relate to each other?
How come topologically protected emergent phenomena are equally present in condensed matter systems and in elementary particles coupled, under certain conditions, to emergent gauge fields?
Frontier areas most often have to do with strongly coupled physical systems. In those strongly interacting regimes, conventional perturbative methods can no longer be trusted. Nevertheless in a few occasions, one also finds exact solutions of simplified related integrable systems, which give us important guidelines for many of those more intricate problems. In this way, a breakthrough in any of those fields permeates almost immediately and opens the way for new advances in other related areas as well.
The "New Frontiers in Physics" conference brings to the fore themes, which have been receiving a lot of attention lately. They will be presented by leading physicists in their fields giving us a unique opportunity to appreciate all those important advances in one goal.
