New Trends in High-Energy Physics and QCD
The School and the Workshop will be devoted to recent developments in High-Energy Physics (HEP), with special emphasis on the new data from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN and their theoretical interpretation. The LHC already produced many nice new experimental data in the hitherto unexplored domain and many more are expected at the time of the Workshop. Among these are new analysis on recent data on the Higgs boson discovery, branching ratios, spin, etc, a key element in the standard theory of elementary particles. Part of the standard theory is quantum chromodynamics (QCD), so much time will be devoted to introductory lectures in QCD as well as to the analysis of data in the framework of QCD. Collective properties of the nuclear matter as seen in heavy-ion collisions, studied at CERN´s LHC as well as at BNL´s RHIC will be among the topics of the Workshop.
The aim of the School and the Workshop is to promote scientific collaboration between theorists and experimentalists, students and lecturers from different parts of the world. The Workshop will offer an excellent opportunity for young physicists to integrate in the high-energy physics community and participate in future experiments and their theoretical interpretation. The School, preceding the Workshop, will provide a basis for young researchers to follow the advanced level of the presentations at the Workshop.
Format of the Event:
The event will consist of a School (October 21 - October 31) and a Workshop (November 3 - November 6). The School will be dedicated to introductory lectures on various topical subjects in high-energy physics and related problems. This will help to prepare the participants (especially the younger ones) to follow the advanced original presentations during the second phase of the event, to include presentation of new results from important experimental collaborations from all over the world.
Conference fees:
Students = US$140,00 / €110,00 / R$300,00
Professionals = US$240,00 / €180,00 / R$500,00
